Delft Mercurians

RoboCup competition team

Participating in the RoboCup Small Size League. Developing fully autonomous football robots from the ground up.
Founded in 2022 and have since competed in Eindhoven, The Netherlands (2024) and Salvador, Brazil (2025), and Incheon, Korea (2026).

Status

After achieving 5th at the 2026 Robocup competition in Incheon, Sout Korea, where we also received awards for being the most improved and most helpful team, we are now working towards improving our robot for the next Robocup competition.

This year the main goal is to improve the high-level software and robot control through actual testing. Meanwhile the hardware team is improving the kicker system and fixing any problems encountered during the competition. The embectrical team (embedded and electrical) will be overhauling the radio communication system.

Context

We build small autonomous soccer robots and aim to beat the rest of the SSL. The SSL is an incredibly fun league where teams design and build extremely compact autonomous robots.

The only way to win is to innovate over the other teams, as a basic solution is already easily available, so only truly creative solution win out.
